"Interesting conundrum. To me, it seems rather telling that you couldn't find a plot or any other paperwork. Even the smallest community playhouses I work in are rather meticulous about keeping a good LW/VW file for each show, so to me, the…"

"I think it's a bit of a cat and mouse game, they know they can pay less and someone will jump at the offer, so why pay you the going rate? That's when you remind them in a show critical situation, who do you want at the console? The kid…"

Working (not) ON PURPOSE

Posted on June 14, 2011 at 10:26pm 4 Comments

This post is going to be about working for crappy pay. A couple days ago I got a call from a guy wanting to offer me a job for a week. I'm a freelancer so this is not an ususual length of time for a job offer, what was sort of unusual was that the guy couldn't actually hire me himself. He was coming in from out of town and hiring a local company to provide labor. I'd been recommended to him and he wanted me to get in touch with this local company so I could get on their payroll and he could…

Working (not)

Inspiration Station

Where does inspiration come from?

A lot of my inspiration comes from seeing the work that other people do.  A really beautifully done project always gets me daydreaming about projects of my own, real and imagined.   I’d like to be able to say that my ideas are solely my own and that I never copy…
