What does the lighting résumé look like today?

It's been a very long time since I've needed to get together my résumé for an upcoming cross country move in the summer of 2014. I am interested in what has changed since 1994. Here's what WAS important back then- please add you what you think has changed and any new websites that are important to help re-write a new résumé.This is what was a standard résumé in order from top to bottom-must be only 1 page-name, address, phone number-school, additional courses-job history from current…See More

And the Winner Is?? STS9

                                                      And the Winner Is?? STS9

I think this is a perfect title for my blog because I don't get to see my small little club with such a GREAT temporary lighting rig. My club, the Beacham, has the best sound system in Orlando hands down, but the lighting package could be beat by the newest 7/11 gas station. I have written several blogs profiling bands coming thru because my little sound hall really changes for the better every…

Tier nightclub in the heart of downtown Orlando

Orlando has had a recent downtown nightclub restoration.  The area is loving known as Orange Ave because of the one way street that gets closed at night to let the drunks leave the 30+ bars in a 10 block radius. I haven’t had a chance to visit downtown in a while due to my busy work schedule and that ever-pesky vacation travel (hehe, you are jealous that I’ve been on vacation…

Ultra celebrates 15 years

This year Ultra celebrates being on this planet for 15 years. So how would you throw a Quinceañera for your fans? Give them 2 full weekends of the biggest stages, cutting edge graphics, lasers, confetti, fire cannons, and CO2 shots to blow the minds of each and every one of their 100,000 plus fans. O yea and add in the worlds biggest DJs, atmosphere talent, and video crews filming for UMFTV ( to broadcast live to another million people across the…

Swedish House Mafia's final show

If you know anything about currant popular music, then you know that Electronic Dance Music has hits in the top 40. This is the 1st time this genre has broken away from its underground roots and made its way into every facet of our lives. From the billion dollar festival industry all the way to the JC Penny commercial playing a dubstep song as children parade in their new school uniforms down a catwalk. What does all this mean for us…

Buku Festival in New Orleans

To continue in the vein of boutique festivals ( please see last weeks blog for intro to S.S. Coachella) I have recruited a very good friend, Jordan Whaley, to send me some pictures of the new festival gaining popularity in New Orleans, BUKU Music and Art Project. This is only the 2nd year the festival has taken place and…

I got the invite. I'd love to be there. I'm going to try, but it depends on if I have the money for a plane ticket. It sounds like the perfect Elisa evening!
