According to Pollstar, concert touring revenues were down compared to 2009. Here's what they said:

The Top 50 Tours Worldwide grossed a combined $2.93 billion which was down about 12% from last year's $3.34 billion. Total tickets sold was 38.3 million which was down about 15% or 7 million from 2009's 45.3 million. Total show count was down about 8% to 2,650. The only number to increase was the average ticket price which went up $2.86 or about 4%.

The Top 50 Tours North America grossed a combined $1.69 billion which was down about 15% from last year's $1.99 billion. Total tickets sold was 26.2 million which was down about 12% from 2009's 29.9 million. Total show count was down about 3% to 2,114. Unlike the Worldwide chart, the average ticket price in North America dropped $1.55 or about 2%.

Does this makes sense to you? I thought 2010 was a pretty good year based on what I was hearing, especially compared to 2009. I know a lot of people who were out of work or couldn't find enough work in 2009 and many of those people did well in 2010. Am I that out of touch? What gives?

Personally 2009 was a much better year for myself. I also believe that 2009 was a better year over all for the industry. It seems as if 2010 kinda left everyone wondering what was next. However, with all of this thought, I believe 2011 will be an amazing year for us. For I believe its our time to shine. May you make 2011 a better year than both 2009 and 2010.
I agree completely !!         Quote: Clifford Sharpling (above)  2011 2012 have already brought many large bookings. 2005 Bookings may return to present day soon !!

2010 WAS better then 2009 but we also expanded our business quite a bit, I dont think its gonna recover to the levels of the good ole days, But were holding our own. Weve expanded our relationships with OTHER dealers and even competitiors, used the Social Medi as Cold calling and sales tools, and sought to solidify contracts and solid customers. I think well survive and grow albeit at a slower pace.

I look forward to more and growing relationships in the future...

From my experience of 2010 it was off. normally i go out and do 40 shows a year or more. Last year only 27. Hope 2011 is better

2010 was leaps and bounds ahead of 2009. Much more active overall and more new contacts and work came into play for me personally. I do know some people though who still struggled thru it though.

Here's hoping EVERYONE has a more productive 2011!

I'm hoping this year is much better !

How many invoices tell the story for each year.

2006-143 invoices for the year.

2007-94      "           "     "     "

2008-24      "           "     "     "

2009-26      "           "     "     "

2010-39      "           "     "     "

Looks like it is on the up cline so far.

Since 1995 I have never seen it this bad.

I will survive.
